Simple Peppermint Bark Recipe

I feel guilty calling this a recipe because it is SO easy. This is perfect to bring to a holiday gathering or give to friends. Sweet, minty, and bite sized! Makes around 4 servings.

Recipe

Ingredients:

2 11 oz bags white chocolate

1 11oz bag milk chocolate 

1/2 tsp mint extract 

3 tsp vegetable, canola, or coconut oil

1 package candy canes 


Directions:

  1. Prepare a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper

  2. Melt white chocolate + 1 tsp oil in microwave in bursts of 15 seconds so it doesn’t burn

  3. Mix and add 1/4 tsp mint extract

  4. Pour melted chocolate onto baking sheet and spread evenly

  5. Refrigerate for 8-10 minutes - should not be fully set so that it does not separate at the end

  6. While refrigerating, prepare milk chocolate in the same way, melting with 1 tsp oil and then mixing in 1/4 tsp mint extract. Pour melted milk chocolate on top of nearly set white chocolate. Spread. Refrigerate for 8-10 minutes.

  7. Again while refrigerating, prepare the last white chocolate - melting with 1 tsp oil. This time, don’t add mint extract. Spread on top. Crush up candy canes and sprinkle on top. Crushing them in a bag with a rolling pin is a great and easy way!

  8. Refrigerate for at least 30 min to ensure it is totally set. Crush up and then refrigerate until ready to serve!
